China Unicom Sets Up New Subsidiary in Singapore

Chinese telecom operator China Unicom announced on September 19 that the company set up a new subsidiary in Singapore, claiming to be the first in Southeast Asia in a bid to boost its market presence in the region, according to a press release by China Unicom. With an aim to serve its clients based in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, the new subsidiary will provide products and services in the areas of international data services, voice wholesales and information and communication technologies. Aside from Singapore, China Unicom also has subsidiaries located in North America, Europe, Japan, and Hong Kong, through which the company can provide international voice, data, and mobile roaming services to their users travelling around the world.
